SYDNEY TSHIBUBUDZE

Board Member

Qualifications: BSc Mechanical Engineering - University of Witwatersrand, BCom Quantitative Management – UNISA, MBA - University of Cape Town Graduate Business School and holds a MCIPS membership status - Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS). Sydney is an Executive head of Strategic Sourcing, Barloworld Equipment. He joined Barloworld Group in October 2019 within the then known as Barloworld Automotive and Logistics division as a Divisional Executive of Strategic Sourcing.

RELEBOHILE MALAHLEHA

Board Member

Qualifications: Chartered Accountant, Specialist in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and Standards of Generally Recognized Accounting Practise (GRAP). Relebohile is the Executive of Strategic Finance and Treasury, Barloworld. Prior to this role she was the CFO of Avis Budget, a division of Barloworld South Africa for four years.

GALE LEMMERT

Board Member

Qualifications: BA Law (LLB), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Fellow of Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa. Gale Lemmert is a seasoned executive with over 25 years in corporate and SOE sectors, including financial services and Transnet. At Barloworld, she progressed from Group Strategy consultant to her current role as Group Executive: Risk, Ethics & Governance. Her extensive tenure includes leading Transformation and Sustainability initiatives. A member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network, she is known for her contributions to robust corporate governance, ethical leadership, and institutional resilience, having also served on boards of enX Group Limited and Nampak Limited.

BONGI MKHABELA

Board Member

Qualifications: BA Social Work, Honorary Doctorate in Business Science, Fellowships at Duke University and Rockefeller Foundation. Bongi Mkhabela, a revered anti-apartheid activist and former student leader in the 1976 Soweto Uprising, brings unparalleled experience in social justice and philanthropy. She served as CEO of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund for 21 years, spearheading the R1 billion capital campaign for the Nelson Mandela Children's Hospital. Currently, as Executive Director of the Barloworld Empowerment Foundation (BWEF), she champions Black women's and youth empowerment through initiatives like Barloworld Mbewu Social Innovation Programme, advocating for African philanthropy and institutional resilience.
